Sun safety has been getting a lot of attention in recent years and for good reason. Not only is skin cancer on the rise, but sun exposure is one of the worst causes of premature ageing.
Now, I'm not going to lecture you on applying your sunscreen every 2 hours (even on cloudy days), but I am going to recommend a handful of make-up products that contain SPF.
You might be surprised to learn how many of your products do not contain any sun protection, so try to check that your moisturizer, eye cream and primer do - you can never be too safe!
Foundation: Guerlain - Lingerie De Peau
Protection Level: SPF 20 / PA+
Application: Guerlain recommends applying with fingers. I like to buff over it with Jemma Kidd's Pro Flat Top Foundation Brush.
Lightweight but provides good coverage - leaves your skin looking beautiful. I've been wearing this for about a month, as the description states, it is totally weightless - very comfortable for summer!
Powder: Nars - Powder Foundation
Protection Level: SPF 12 / PA++
Application: Use provided sponge for heavier coverage or swirl onto brush and dust over face to set foundation.
For those of you lucky enough not to need a fuller-coverage foundation, this is a great product for you. I wear it as a finishing powder and carry the compact in my purse for touch-ups throughout the day.
Lip Gloss: Hawaiian Tropic - Aloha Kiss Lip Gloss in Island Berry
Protection Level: SPF 20
Application: Hawaiian Tropic recommends applying frequently and generously - I agree!
This is kind of a cross between a balm and a gloss. It's super-moisturizing so there's no need to pair it with a balm. The color is a light but very pretty pink and it smells delicious - like a berry smoothie! While it does not have a PA rating, it does have a 3 star UVA rating.
